TCL and CWL Team Up on Generating Awareness for Black Ops 4

America’s up-and-coming TV juggernaut TCL has partnered up with the Call of Duty World League (CWL) to become the format’s official TV partner, helping it spearhead the popularity of competitive Black Ops 4 and introduce fans and spectators to a pitch-perfect quality & immersive streams.

The news has been welcomed by Chris Larson, SVP at TCL, who said that TCL was actively looking to reaffirm its commitment to gaming and esports. Mr. Larson pointed out to the evident advantages of teaming up with TCL, including the company’s reputation for premium picture and ultra-low input lag.

Mr. Larson said that thanks to the partnership, gamers will be allowed to be closer to their preferred piece of entertainment than ever before, and provide them with an unrivaled, premium experience, citing the dedicated 6-Series TV platform.

TCL will benefit from its tie-up with the Call of Duty competitive format by being given branding rights in the original CWL programming, the press release specified. TCL will set up on-site gaming lounges at Fort Worth, TX, Anaheim where the finals of the competition take place.

On December 10, 2018, TCL and Topgolf decided to team up to build an inclusive esports venue for gamers. Located in Las Vegas, the Topgolf Las Vegas is already up and running, with the inauguration ceremony coinciding with the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show held from January 8 through January 11.

Activision Happy with the Development

Activision/Blizzard was equally excited at the new partnership opportunities. The company’s SVP and Chief Revenue Officer for Esports, Brandon Snow, said the following, commenting on the successes of the still burgeoning CWL:

Call of Duty® World League continues to grow, and we’re excited to welcome back TCL as a sponsor of the league in 2019.

CWL Las Vegas, our first event of this season, was our biggest start to a new season and the highest viewed CWL open event ever. We look forward to working alongside sponsors like TCL to help propel Call of Duty esports even further and provide fans with an unmatched experience both online and in person,” Mr. Snow added.

The Black Ops 4 season comes with four Open LAN events, providing aspiring professionals with far more opportunities to break into the highest level of competitive play. The first CWL Pro League Qualifier is kicking off on January 16 and it will run through January 20 at the MLG Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

Meanwhile, TCL’s 6-Series remains one of the most-praised viewership solutions coming along with “an innovative bold, brushed metal finish.”
